Due Diligence
Before the installation starts, we visit the site to do a physical evaluation, followed by a more thorough geographical, topographical, and structural analysis. Performing this evaluation previous to the installation ensures we don’t run into problems further down the process.
We also do an electrical evaluation of your facilities, checking the structural drawings to see where the solar panels should be placed for optimal connection to the grid. We perform an electrical audit which enables us to decide where the conductors will go.
Finally, we do our due diligence on the legal documentation of the property, verifying ownership and reviewing surveys to discover any potential liens. In the case of a ground-mounted installation, we verify property lines to ensure we are compliant with local codes.
Solar Installation Project Design & Engineering
The next step is creating the first design. This is a basic design that allows us to decide how we will place the solar panels. We also use this basic design to plan the interconnection with the grid. This stage in the design helps us understand how the installation is fundamentally going to work. Later on, we provide a more detailed plan.
Permit drawings are the next step in the design, and these are more detailed drawings that eventually turn into the final installation drawings. We take care of applying for the permits for you and ensure they are approved timely. Our project manager will be in constant contact with you, to update you on how the process is progressing.
Solar Construction & Commissioning
Before the installation, we have a pre-installation meeting and set up a temporary staging area to store construction materials.
The final step in the installation process is connecting the solar panels with the power grid. Physically connecting the solar system to the grid requires temporarily turning off existing power. Usually, we do this during non-work hours, so the business isn’t affected by the disruption.
Once the installation is complete, Aurora Energy confirms with local authorities that the system was built in accordance with the officially approved plan. We also review the solar panels to make sure the system is safe and code compliant.
