As an organic farm well-versed in sustainable and healthy working land principles, Mary’s Land wanted to find solutions for its goal of using a minimal amount of fossil fuels for its 160-acres located in Ellicott City.
Along with Mary’s Land owner Tom Cunningham, Aurora Energy identified an ideal on-site location for a ground mount solar array utilizing 518 Jinko Eagle Perc modules with SolarEdge optimizers and inverters.
The 199.4 kW system will produce 100% of the farm’s needs saving over $30,000 in electricity costs in the first year, and well over $750,000 over the life of the system, leaving more funds for investing in their business. And with a power-producing clean energy source on-site preventing 197 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere annually, their farming philosophy of going beyond organic principles using a minimal amount of fossil fuels is reaping its own rewards. Every day.
