Some appliances consume energy even when they are turned off! Use a power strip to conserve. One flick of the switch acts as if all the devices were unplugged.

 Reuse cloth grocery bags. Over 500 billion petroleum based plastic bags threaten wildlife, waste energy and clog landfilles each year.

 Washing clothes in cold water eliminates 2 lbs. of CO2 per load. Also, try to wash clothes less frequently- only when they really need washed!
